India’s total solar and wind capacity reached 117,085 MW by 30 June 2024. New capacity addition in the last 12 months was 14,238 MW, increased by 32% y-o-y.

Key highlights from the report:
- Rajasthan, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu are the top three states for capacity commissioned om last 12 months with a combined market share of 46%.
- Adani, Jinko, Sungrow, Adani and Siemens Gamesa were the leading players across project developers, module supply, inverter supply, solar EPC and turbine manufacturers respectively for projects commissioned.
- Avaada, Acme, NTPC and ReNew have the highest awarded capacity in Firm, Peak, PV-Wind hybrid and RTC tenders auctioned in last 12 months.
- Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh are the top three offtakers for ISTS projects awarded over the 5 years.
- 64% of the PV-wind hybrid tenders were oversubscribed.
