India PV Module Intelligence Brief – Q4 2021


 

BRIDGE TO INDIA has released a new quarterly report, India PV Module Intelligence Brief, capturing ongoing demand-supply, pricing, technology and policy trends across the production value chain. The report covers key international developments affecting module supply in India.

Total solar installation during Q4 2022 is estimated at 4,535 MWp, split 73:7:16:4 between utility scale, open access, rooftop solar and off grid solar respectively. Q4 saw a 79% QOQ spike in import volumes with a total of 5,057 MW being imported in advance of 25-40% Basic Customs Duty kicking in from April 2022. We expect about 9 GW of module imports in Q1 2022. Domestic module and cell production in the quarter is estimated at only 1,028 MW and 615 MW respectively.
