India PV Module Intelligence Brief | Q2 2022

This report captures quarterly trends in module demand and supply, import and domestic production volumes, supplier market shares, break-up by technology and rating, pricing trends across the value chain and key international developments.

Total module demand during the quarter was estimated at 5,477 MWp, split 72:18:9:1 amongst utility scale, open access, rooftop solar and off grid solar at 3,921 MWp, 1,028 MWp, 468 MWp and 60 MWp respectively. As expected, BCD implementation from April 2022 has brought a near complete halt in module imports. Q2 saw only 144 MW of modules imported while cell imports stood at 756 MWp (down 66% QOQ). Domestic production was also down by 12% at 1,488 MW.
