India Solar Map 2023 is an info-graphic report covering growth of utility scale solar sector – national and state-wise commissioned and pipeline capacity, leading market players and portfolio details of top 16 project developers. Capacity addition in 2023 fell 51% YOY to 5,924 MW taking total utility scale solar capacity to 59,840 MW. Total project pipeline stands at a record 74,161 MW.

Key highlights:
- Rajasthan, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu are the top three states for capacity commissioned in 2023 with a combined market share of 66%.
- Open access capacity addition touched a high of 3,191 MW in 2023. Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh were the five leading states for new open access projects.
- Cleanmax, Jinko, Sungrow and Tata were the top players across project development, module supply, inverter supply and EPC businesses respectively for projects commissioned in 2023.
- Adani, NTPC, ReNew and Azure have the largest solar pipeline capacity at 10,700 MW, 8,168 MW, 5,048 MW and 4,546 MW respectively.
- Share of imported modules in the year continued to remain high at 83%.
- The EPC business remains highly fragmented with share of top ten players at only 35%.
