India Solar Rooftop Map is an info-graphic report providing a snapshot of rooftop solar market in India – capacity addition across states and consumer segments, market share of leading players and other key trends. Total rooftop solar capacity is estimated to have reached 14,484 MW by end of 2023. Total new installations in 2023 are estimated at 2,856 MW, up only 8% over previous year.

Key highlights of the year:
- Growth was led by the residential segment, accounting for 38% share of new installations, up from 28% in 2022. Gujarat, Kerala, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh were the leading states.
- The corporate segment saw installations totalling 1,770 MW, down 7% YOY. Karanataka, Maharashtra and Rajasthan were the leading states in the year. These three states together account for 46% of total corporate rooftop solar capacity in the country.
- Karnataka, Maharashtra and Gujarat were the leading states for total installations in the year, together accounting for 62% of total capacity addition in the year.
- OPEX model saw a further drop in new installations at an estimated 286 MW reaching a new low for market share of only 10%.
- EPC cost for residential and corporate systems fell by 29% and 25% YOY respectively improving market outlook.
